Nearly March New Year post...

No resolutions, just keep doing, processing, crafting, learning, being. There's no doubt this can be a tricky trickster little endeavour, claiming spare minutes around fam and full time job and life. Finding uncluttered space, time, inspiration- not always successfully avoiding the pitfalls of procrastination and comparing your woeful efforts to all the great creative projects other far more fabulous people are able to achieve.. Greetings!

Nothing like a home made card or gift tag to make that prezzy, note or hello extra spesh.. I have done a few to order over the years, doodling at it's finest- countless hours at the dining room table. I'm terrible at throwing out cards I receive myself and have shoe boxes full of them like a crazy hoarder person... The hand made ones almost always make the cut ;)

What's in a Name?

I searched on the internet recently under poems for children- about being unique, special, embracing their individuality etc... There was heaps of cheesy stuff, but with good intent :) There are of course beautiful books also, with incredible artistry, that teach kids about love, kindness, respect, chasing rainbows and chasing dreams. There's some debate around the need to toughen kids up more- that there's too many growing up with a sense of entitlement and low work ethic. There's always some truth in most sides. BEGINNINGS...

BEGINNINGS...

I have done a series of circle works with 'beginnings' as a theme.. starting with this large one that incorporates intertwining and overlapping koru, celtic and circular shapes with some traditional earthy indigenous colours.
