What's in a Name?

I searched on the internet recently under poems for children- about being unique, special, embracing their individuality etc... There was heaps of cheesy stuff, but with good intent :) There are of course beautiful books also, with incredible artistry, that teach kids about love, kindness, respect, chasing rainbows and chasing dreams. There's some debate around the need to toughen kids up more- that there's too many growing up with a sense of entitlement and low work ethic. There's always some truth in most sides. ..And then there were 3 more (Arks)

Continuing with the Ark/ animal theme... mixing it up with different placements and animal depictions. Each one is unique although the basic composition remains the same. Painting animals doesn't come naturally to me- I search up images and do sketches to try and get the right look for each creature. I don't want to be painting them in an uber realistic way nor did I want them overly cartoonish- the balance was fine :-) The Ark theme is enduring, but more so of course, children love 'dem animals. They learn their names, their sounds, their colours... It's a virtual zoo...

Moodling and puttering

In one of my mind's eyes I see pretty much all 'creative folk' as motivated, organized, uber productive and effortlessly talented. We are creatures who constantly compare and more often than not, our creative endeavors (and ourselves) don't measure up. "Artists are people driven by the tension between the desire to communicate and the desire to hide" (hat tip D.W.Winnicott, whoever you are) For me I find this quote to be so true.
