..And then there were 3 more (Arks)

Continuing with the Ark/ animal theme... mixing it up with different placements and animal depictions. Each one is unique although the basic composition remains the same. Painting animals doesn't come naturally to me- I search up images and do sketches to try and get the right look for each creature. I don't want to be painting them in an uber realistic way nor did I want them overly cartoonish- the balance was fine :-) The Ark theme is enduring, but more so of course, children love 'dem animals. They learn their names, their sounds, their colours... It's a virtual zoo on their bedroom wall. After my first Ark (numero uno) I tried with these next 3 to have a bit more going on- to squeeze in more and have lots of places where little eyes could wander, finding new things and rediscovering others.

'Ark2 with flamingo' (Featured image) I painted for sale. It was purchased for Caleb and has since been enjoyed also by his little brother Ben.

'Ark3 with penguins' was also painted for sale. It's a little more painterly in style and in a square format. It was purchased for Isabelle who loved saying hello to all the animals one by one every morning :)

'Ark4 with koalas' was commissioned and painted for a little girl's special room at her Grandparent's house.
